Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We live in a society where marriage is increasingly thought of as expendable. At the first sign of trouble, many begin to think of better days when there wasn’t the pressure and responsibilities there are now. Vows are tossed to the side without thought. Covenants broken.

If they only knew the transforming power of a Christ-centered marriage, they’d hold onto each other and never let go. Yes, some days may be challenging, but if we apply Your wisdom and seek earnestly for godliness, self-control, and perseverance, the influence the world has on marriage would be diminished.

Father, we ask that You watch over our marriage. May all that we do and say be a result of Your wisdom. May we wisely build our home on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ. No matter the storms that come against us, or the floods that attempt to overwhelm us, we know that our foundation will not be washed away.

We ask that You strengthen and purify our hearts Lord, so we may know the fullness of the love of Christ.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
