Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Your Word tells us that Jesus came that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly.
Jesus warned that there will be wolves among the sheep — those who oppose the truth and seek to steal, kill and destroy. We must more than ever be a light in this world — an encouragement to so many couples who are discouraged. So many are struggling to just get along with each other. Many are wrestling with the idea of marriage while others are wondering why theirs is falling apart.
Teach us what it means to love. To represent the true meaning of marriage so that we might be an example, to others. Help us to walk in righteousness, to honor our spouse with our words, to be steadfast; able to endure.
May we not just be made in Your image, but also in Your likeness. May we be imitators of Christ Who gave up His life for the church.
May our marriage be blessed with peace, and may our light shine in this increasingly darkened world for Your glory and honor and praise.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
