When Storm Clouds Are Gathering –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We know that as long as we live in this world, we’ll have trials, but we must remain faithful. As long as we’re here, we’ll have trouble, which is why we need to stand strong together — for better or worse until death do us part.

People we love can be taken from us at any time, possessions could be gone tomorrow, our health could fail us at any moment, and our jobs could be lost. If we didn’t have a true and lasting faith, we wouldn’t have a firm foundation on which to stand. If we didn’t know that there was more in store for us than just this passing world, we wouldn’t have the peace and hope that we do.

When storm clouds are gathering, we ask that You remind us that it’s by Your strength that we’re more than conquerors. It is You who sustains us when storms are raging all around us. It is You that stills the wind and calms the waves. It is You who is sovereign. Why should we fear?

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
